Seeing the Light

They say that when a person dies, they see a light – or I guess that’s what they say about people who are going to go to heaven. I’m pretty sure I won’t go to heaven. Mainly that’s because I just don’t believe in it. How could there be a heaven? It would be empty according to all the criteria that I’ve heard about getting into it.

All those deadly sins and commandments and things…I mean, what a job to be those angels or saints who have to assign a point value to good and bad deeds. At the end of the day though, easy job given the criteria because like Jesus said – “Let him who has not sinned cast the first stone” – but it’s a trick because as soon as the stone is cast, the person is a sinner because throwing rocks at some poor woman who felt the need to make her living in a way the neighborhood looks down on – that’s simply not a very nice thing to do at all.

So the angels and saints, they just open the trap door and say ‘Next.”

Maybe we do see a light though. Maybe the light is what guides us to our next incarnation. Maybe the light is what burns the sin off of us. Maybe the light is like the light in the refrigerator so that whatever eats us can see what it will be snacking on.

The Light of Heaven is probably a trap
